IVF with a Higher Level of CONFIDENCE

Embryo Selection
The Eeva Test

Introducing the Test

The first and only FDA-cleared test to aid in embryo selection.

The Eeva Test was designed to provide your IVF team with reliable, objective information to select embryos with greater confidence as they strive to do everything possible to improve your odds of a successful pregnancy.

IVF Embryo Selection

When It’s Time To Choose,
Put Confidence On Your Side.

Of the many factors that contribute to successful IVF, one of the most important and most challenging is selecting which embryo or embryos to transfer.

Embryologists make this selection based on observations of the embryos’ visual appearance and are often faced with a difficult decision when there appear to be several “good/fair” embryos from which to choose.

The Eeva Test is the only non-invasive test that can provide objective, early information about the developmental potential of your embryos to help you and your doctor make this critical decision with greater confidence.

The Eeva Test Helps Your IVF Team Select the Best Embryos to Transfer.

Select the Best Embryos to Transfer

The Eeva Test is used by leading IVF clinics to safely assess the health and developmental potential of embryos in the first few days of development.

Different from genetic screening based on embryo biopsy, the Eeva Test uses non-invasive, time-lapse imaging of embryos during incubation that detects critical yet subtle differences in cell division.

Results of the Eeva Test has been shown in clinical studies to increase the ability of embryologists to accurately identify embryos with the highest developmental potential.

How Does the Eeva Test Work?

Embryo Selection

The Eeva Test was developed based on landmark research conducted at Stanford University, which was recognized by Time magazine as one of the top ten medical breakthroughs in 2010.

Using non-invasive time-lapse video monitoring of each embryo during incubation, the Eeva Test consistently and objectively assesses each embryo for critical and subtle characteristics, such as the timing of early cell division, and analyzes this information to predict each embryo’s potential for further development. This all takes place within the safe and controlled environment of the incubator without disturbing the embryos.

The Eeva test has been cleared by the FDA for use in the United States to aid in embryo selection. To date thousands of women in Europe and Canada have chosen to include the Eeva Test in their IVF cycles.

“Taking out some unknowns is very appealing. Ultimately the embryologist will select, but I like being told WHY they made the selection. It would make me feel more confident, more secure, more calm. It’s another thing that is helping get to the end point we’re trying to get to.” — 1st Time IVF patient

How Does My IVF Team Use
the Eeva Test Results?

Your IVF Team uses Eeva Test results together with their own clinical observations to select the best embryos to transfer.

Traditionally, embryologists select embryos based on “morphology grading,” in which they view embryos under a microscope once or twice a day during the first few days of development and assess their visual appearance.

These snapshot observations are subjective and based on the experience and ability of the embryologist. Often, embryologists have a difficult choice to make when there appear to be several “good/fair” embryos from which to select one or more to transfer.

In a clinical study, five embryologists from five different clinics analyzed more than 700 embryos using morphology grading alone, vs. together with Eeva Test results.

IVF odds of accurate embryo selection
  • • The participating embryologists increased their ability to accurately predict embryo potential development by an average of 53% over traditional methods when using the Eeva Test in addition to traditional methods

The Eeva Test creates videos of your embryos that you at the discretion of your physician may receive at the end of your IVF cycle along with a report of your Eeva Test results.
